WebDec 11, 2015 · I have just taken back The Castle in the questline and I've done the quest after to reclaim arttillery from the armoury. It's not until now I've gotten ONE defend from attack quest so I wonder if it's linked to the minutemen main quest line, as in you have to retake and rebuild the castle before you get the "attack quests". WebDec 6, 2015 · At least, I think it's the general's quarters. you'll get a Minuteman quest with a former member (female). She'll find a way to open it with you. some spoiler because it's weird in the quest: you have to get rid of some stones that are blocking a way. You can scrap them in build mode. Go the General's Quarters.

There are a LOT of settlements that you can unlock without adding settlers to them. Maybe a dozen of them you can simply clear the hostiles and activate the bench. If you don't encounter Preston and Co. you can still unlock Sanctuary too. Just walk up to the workstation and activate it.
