WebOct 5, 2012 · About 1 month after my warranty expired the "Boot Open" alert keeps flashing on my dashboard despite the boot being shut. I was told it could either be locking latch on the boot or the boot handle (The chrome stripe). I have changed both of the these but I am still getting the alert. WebThe trunk wont open. The button on the latch does nothing, and the button on the key only makes the lights flash. I checked the inside of the hatch and there is no manual release, that I can find anyway. If you look at the lock you will see a little black button thing on the side, this is an emergency release in case you are kidnapped and locked in the boot!
