Now for FSX I use FSXWX 1.6.1, a freeware weather engine that actually does pretty darn good. The only weather engine I have used that gets rid of the irritating puffy clouds at ground level. The in-sim real-world weather will never be fixed as the Jeppesen server used by default FSX no longer gets updated, and Microsoft and DTG do not have the personnel or interest to fix it. It's free, though after installing it will give you I think 21 day trial of its Pro (payware) version whether you want it or not.
WebMar 29, 2015 · Real weather no longer works with this game. Apparently Dovetail doesn't have the rights to Jeppensen's data for the Steam version. Use an add-on such as Active Sky Next or FSXWX. Real weather does work in FSX steam and always has.
