If it was only one of these problems, I might prefer PS1 graphics over N64 graphics. But the combination is pretty awful and to my tastes worse than just blurry textures. To paint a texture that properly obeys perspective you'd need to perform a divide stemming from that 1/z operation for every pixel. Divides are expensive so the original Playstation doesn't do them.
